  • What happens once I have booked?
You will receive a case history form to complete prior to the consultation. You will receive confirmation of your appointment and a reminder a few days before.
  • How do I book?
Contact Lucy via her email address at: lbequinebehaviour@gmail.com or alternatively via Facebook at: Lucy Butt Equine Behaviourist.
  • Am I able to have weekly training without a consultation?
The most effective way to begin solving a behavioural issue is via an initial consultation. This allows all routes to be explored and creating a long-lasting behavioural change. Lucy does not currently offer training sessions without these initial consultations.
  • Is my horse fixable?
It is often a concern when horses have behavioural issues and perhaps you have already had numerous professionals that have been unsuccessful in solving these issues. As an equine behaviourist, Lucy offers a different approach to most professionals. This allows new ideas and methods your horse may never have experienced before. Don't hesitate to get in touch, even if you think your horse is 'beyond help'!
  • What happens after the consultation?
A behavioural modification plan and management alterations will be emailed to you. From here you can complete training sessions with your horse. If necessary follow-up training sessions with Lucy can be arranged (for an additional cost).
  • Are you able to do a consultation remotely?
In some instances yes. I am able to offer a similar standard of consultation online, however it is always recommended to have an in-person initial consultation.
  • Do I need to stop riding before my consultation?
Not necessarily, it is very dependent on what the behavioural issue is. But if you and your horse are both happy and safe then riding can continue.
  • What happens at a consultation?
It is best if the horse is in their usual routine on the day of the appointment. From arrival we can discuss your goals for the session and any further questions. We will look at management factors and begin the retraining process.
